How to reach Hetta Enontekiö?
The easiest way to reach Hetta Enontekiö is to fly to Kittilä Airport and rent a car from the airport. Most of our guests arrive by car. Buses run from Kittilä to Hetta once or twice a day. One popular option is to fly to Rovaniemi and rent a car there. There is a bus from Rovaniemi to Hetta once or twice a day. The bus usually leaves Rovaniemi at 11.30 am and the same bus arrives in Kittilä at around 1.30 pm. The bus arrives in Hetta at around 4.15 pm. We are not responsible for these schedules. There is no bus connection from Kiruna to Hetta. If you fly to Kiruna, you will need to rent a car there. A surprisingly large number of our guests travel via Tromso Airport, even though the distance is long. Ivalo Airport appears to be close according to the map, but since the shortest roads are in poor condition, the distance is actually long. Please note, if you plan to drive from Ivalo/Inari to here, we do not recommend taking the shortest route! If you are coming from Inari, I recommend that you ask us or your hotel for advice on choosing a route. If you need taxi services, you can find contact information on the Enontekiö Lapland website.
You can travel in an environmentally friendly way by train to Kolari. You can find all train schedules on the VR website. Kolari is the northernmost point where the railway reaches in Finland. By choosing a bed instead of a seat on the train, you can travel on the train comfortably through the night. A bus leaves from Kolari to Hetta after the train arrives. However, check this on the Matkahuolto website. You can also arrive in Rovaniemi by train.
