In this Arctic quiet, you’ll feel a rare connection: to nature, to each other, and to something within yourself.
Stay in a cozy glamping tent with a crackling fire, surrounded by quiet wilderness, and the northern sky. No distractions – just the two of you, wrapped in peace and simplicity. Watch the night sky from your bed and wake up to the purest silence.
We’ve seen couples speak less and feel more
– that’s the magic of this place
Each Romantic Northern Lights Getaway includes our most popular and authentic seasonal experiences, a private outdoor sauna experience, and full board meals. The specific itinerary depends on the season – see the details for each holiday below. Together, these elements create a uniquely personal and magical Arctic escape for you and your soulmate.
Our tours take you off the beaten path, deep into the wilderness of Lapland. Your guide leads you away from the beaten paths and shares stories about how people and nature still live side by side. All tours are small-group adventures (maximum 6 guests), allowing for deeper connection and meaningful moments.
The Northern Lights
Our location in the far north of Lapland is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. Here, auroras are likely on roughly 75% of clear nights – if the sky is clear, there’s a good chance you’ll witness their magic.
There’s no light pollution around Arctic Nature Glamping or during our aurora tours. The nearby mountains often block clouds from the west, creating favorable viewing conditions. Still, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon – their appearance can never be guaranteed.
Aurora season begins already in late August, when nights grow dark enough. Autumn and spring are slightly more active aurora seasons than midwinter, but the biggest factor is location – and we are in one of the best. When choosing your travel month, focus on what kind of overall experience you’re looking for.
Autumn has a special magic: before the lakes freeze, auroras can be seen both in the sky and reflected on the surface of the water – a beautiful sight. In midwinter, the long dark hours increase your chances of seeing them, even early in the evening or morning.
Every Romantic Northern Lights Getaway holiday includes a Northern Lights tour with local delicacies and a traditional open-fire laavu experience.
Arctic Nature Glamping
Stay in a cozy glamping tent with a crackling fire, surrounded by quiet wilderness and the northern sky. No distractions – just the two of you, wrapped in peace and simplicity. Watch the night sky from your bed and wake up to the purest silence.
Arctic Nature Glamping is a secret hideout in Lapland’s forest – a truly unique way to experience Arctic wilderness with comfort and peace of mind. While lying under a thick blanket on a comfy bed, you can admire the Lapland landscape through a large front window and a skylight above you.
Spend your nights in a secret hideout
– a luxury tent hidden in the Arctic forest
The tent is insulated and heated by a wood-burning stove, which you’ll keep going by adding firewood – even during the night. In midwinter, an additional heater ensures extra warmth. There is a private dry outdoor toilet, as in traditional wilderness life.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are delivered directly to your tent – except when a meal is part of an activity. We value personal service and are always close by if you need assistance. Romantic Northern Lights Getaway includes 2 or 3 nights in Arctic Nature Glamping, depending on the package and the season.
Traditional outdoor sauna
The sauna next to the glamping tent is a traditional Finnish outdoor sauna – just like the ones we use in our wilderness cabins where there is no running water. At Arctic Nature Glamping, the sauna is not just a convenience – it’s part of the experience.
We will light the sauna together and show you how it works. It usually takes a couple of hours to heat, depending on the weather. You’ll keep the fire going yourself – adding logs until the sauna is ready.
A sacred northern ritual of warmth, silence, and renewal
Once it’s hot, the sauna is yours to enjoy for as long as you like – most people stay for an hour or two. You can wash yourself in the sauna using hot water from the tank around the stove, mixed with cold water to get just the right temperature. This is how we do it in the wilderness. Towels are provided Romantic Northern Lights Getaway.
Looking for something truly unique?
Why Here? Why This Far North?
This is one of the most remote inhabited areas in Europe – surrounded by vast official wilderness areas that are rarely seen by tourists. Here, silence is real, darkness is deep, and the skies stretch endlessly
Our experiences take place in places where there truly are no other people – no crowds, no light pollution, no other tours crossing your path. These are not curated nature settings, but the actual wilderness of Arctic Lapland.
Our family roots run deep in this area, and local culture is a natural part of everything we do. As we guide you through snow-covered forests or open tundra, we share the stories of this land – not only as guides, but as people whose lives are intertwined with the nature around us.
A northern location is most important if you want to see the Northern Lights. Statistically, our region sees auroras on 75% of clear nights from autumn to spring. The western fells shield us from clouds, and the complete darkness around the glamping makes the sky feel closer than anywhere else.
Not everyone gets here
And that’s exactly why it’s worth it
There may be more accessible places to visit in Lapland. But if you’re looking for something truly genuine – untouched landscapes, small group experiences, and quiet connection to Arctic nature and culture – you will find it here, beyond the usual routes.

By late August, nature in northern Lapland begins its quiet shift toward winter. Green turns to gold, orange, and deep red. The most vivid colors usually appear in the first two or three weeks of September, but the hues linger on the ground for weeks. Just before the snow, frost paints the landscape in delicate white. The first snowfall often arrives in mid-October, usually settling by the end of the month. Every autumn is different – but always breathtaking
One of autumn’s secrets is hidden in the stillness: when the lake lies quiet and the night is clear, you may see the Northern Lights mirrored on the water’s surface – a rare and unforgettable sight. Our far northern location gives you some of the best chances in the world to witness auroras on clear nights.
Experience fall colors, peaceful days, and local stories in a journey
that connects you with Lapland on a deeper level
This getaway blends autumn beauty with deep local culture. On a guided walk into the national park, we’ll climb tundra trails and take in vast Arctic views. At the reindeer farm, you’ll learn about traditional reindeer husbandry and feed the reindeer their favorite treat.
During your stay, we share the rhythm of northern life – how our year follows the seasons, and how autumn is a time to gather from nature and prepare for the long winter. You’ll hear stories of local life and history, visit the ancient Sámi village ruins, and see the sacred Seita stone nearby.
In the evening, we gather around fire in a traditional shelter – laavu – to enjoy local delicacies and keep watch on the northern sky, waiting for nature’s most magical light show to begin.

In November, autumn fades and winter quietly takes over. Here in the far north of Lapland – in Enontekiö – the first snow often arrives already in October and often blankets the land throughout November, though not always. Sometimes it’s a soft, white layer; other times just a hint of frost – but Arctic stillness is always present.
November in far north Lapland
– where the snow comes early and the auroras appear often
The daylight is longer and the air milder than in deep winter. The low Arctic sun casts golden hues over the snowy landscape, and the coming polar night whispers in the colors of each day.
One day we’ll take you to a river that stays partly open even in the coldest winter – its flowing water framed by snow-covered forest. Another day, we’ll guide you through our quiet village, surrounded by vast wilderness, and share how life unfolds here in small Arctic communities.
You’ll experience a gentle sleigh ride through snowy forest trails. The only sounds are the horse’s steps and a harness bell that once belonged to my grandfather – a piece of history still jingling today.
You’ll visit the ancient sacred stone Seita – a spiritual site once revered by our Sámi ancestors long before Christianity. And at the reindeer farm, you’ll feed reindeer and learn about traditional husbandry that still continues today.
In the evening, we gather by fire in a traditional hut – laavu – to enjoy local delicacies and stories. With a bit of luck and a clear sky, the Northern Lights will appear above the snowy silence. Our northern location gives one of the best chances to see them dance.

In midwinter, nature transforms into a magical snow-covered world. Here in Hetta, far north in Lapland, the polar night begins around December 7 and ends on January 6. During this time, the sun doesn’t rise at all – yet the short days are filled with soft light and pastel colors. Snow blankets the trees, muffles all sounds, and turns the forest into a true winter wonderland.
This is your place to reconnect
– with yourself, with nature, with each other
Even after the polar night ends, the quiet beauty continues. Pastel skies linger through January and February, and the trees stay dressed in white. In late winter and early spring, the sun begins to shine brighter, the snow sparkles, and the air becomes milder – yet the landscape remains deeply wintry all the way to April. In fact, the deepest snow comes in March, and the last snow doesn’t melt until May. Spring in Lapland means fun in the snow – with sunshine and silence all around.
You’ll join a snowmobile safari that takes you far away from the usual routes – deep into wilderness where there are no crowds, no other groups, only Arctic stillness. In the evening, we gather around fire in a traditional hut – laavu – to taste local delicacies and keep watch for the Northern Lights above.
And then, the perfect finale: a peaceful horse-drawn sleigh ride through snowy forest trails. The only sound is the sleigh gliding over snow and the gentle jingle of a harness bell – the very same bell my grandfather once used with his horse. Here, every moment is wrapped in snow, silence, and something timeless
